1.What the Extension Does

The Extension scans the currently active webpage to check for Loi 25 (Quebec privacy law) compliance indicators, including cookie consent banners, privacy policy links, tracking scripts, and consent management code. It displays a compliance score in the popup window.

2.Data Collection

The Extension does NOT collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. Specifically:

• No personal information is collected (name, email, IP address, etc.)
• No browsing history is collected or stored
• No cookies are created, read, or modified
• No data is sent to any external server, API, or third party
• No analytics or tracking tools are used within the Extension
• No user accounts or registration are required

3.How It Works

When the user clicks the "Check this page" button, the Extension reads the HTML content of the currently active tab to detect compliance-related keywords and elements. This analysis happens entirely locally in the user's browser. No page content is transmitted anywhere. The results are displayed only in the Extension popup and are not saved.

4.Permissions Used

• "activeTab": Required to access the content of the currently active tab when the user clicks the scan button. This permission is only activated by user action.
• "scripting": Required to run the compliance scanning script on the active page.

These permissions are the minimum required for the Extension to function. No background processes run when the Extension is not actively being used.

5.Third-Party Services

The Extension does not use any third-party services, libraries, APIs, or SDKs. It is built with vanilla JavaScript and has zero external dependencies.

6.Data Storage

The Extension does not store any data locally or remotely. Scan results are only displayed temporarily in the popup window and disappear when the popup is closed.
